Previous Minister of Oil & Minerals Mr. Khaled Mahfoodh Bahah, appreciating the commendable efforts and impressive achievements by SEPOC and its staff, stated “We praise the level of experience enjoyed by SEPOC.” As a Government and State, we take pride in the successes accomplished by Yemeni staff in Block (18). Today, we are able to make use of this honorable experience in the Block.” He added, “The political leadership is keen to constructively and fruitfully encourage and support Yemeni staff. This is manifested in HE President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s visit to the Ministry of Oil Minerals (MOM) and his explicit directives to take care of this national company and bestow on it special patronage and priority by developing its workforce through quality training programs that help Yemeni workforce acquire better skills and abilities and be acquainted with the state-of-the-art technology in oil industry. The mission of this Company’s staff is great. They should not be satisfied with the successes achieved over the past period. The Company must live up to the challenge and manage to create and develop exploratory programs for Block (18) whose total explored area is 30%." He further said “The Company’s higher management has to plan for other investment programs and brave well-studied and planned investment ventures in other oil blocks and commence new exploration activities in Block (18). SEPOC shall support such efforts as it is the pivotal company concerned with the operation of the promising oil Block No. (18).
