Training Activities Dedicated to SEPOC Employees

Introduction-Training Importance
There are many major points that clearly highlight the importance of training in all businesses and more specifically in the oil and gas industry. Over 304 professionals in the oil and gas sector were surveyed on the importance of training for organizations. Results showed that more than 50% of these respondents agreed that training helped them meet long-term organizational goals. Training and development proved to have a great impact on production efficiency and the ability to keep to industry standards and regulations besides directly impacting business revenues.
Well-designed training schemes help learners build on their knowledge, attain advanced technical skills, and adapt themselves to the most up-to-date procedure. Employees who are familiar with the most up-to-date procedures and keep adapting, their career automatically advances and there’s no reason to worry about job security. Therefore, employees should take advantage of training to learn and develop new skills and grow in their careers. Moreover, when planning promotions, training forms a critical criterion for businesses to decide who deserves to grow and be promoted.
To sum it up, training is critical not just for the achievement of overall business goals but also for the growth and career advancement of individual employees. SEPOC realizes these facts and pays special attention to investing in training. Below are some of the training programs included in the company scheme:

Computer Training
Preparing employees to hone their computer skills and stay up-to-date with the latest office demands is essential for success in today's workplace. By equipping employees with the necessary skills and knowledge, businesses can ensure that their staff is well-equipped to handle the ever-evolving demands of the modern office. SEPOC has its own fully equipped training computer lab and regular courses are scheduled for employees to meet their work-related needs.

 Task Program
The Task Program initiates new employees into the Oil and Gas industry by providing them with on-the-job training to ensure they comprehensively understand the practical aspects of field Operation and maintenance. Task-oriented training involves practicing real-work tasks and focuses on improving performance in functional tasks through goal-directed practice and repetition. The task program contains four levels, T 1, T2, T3, and T 4.

API in-house training
The American Petroleum Institute (API) offers in-house training to help employees sharpen their skills and gain a fundamental understanding of oil and gas production and operation maintenance. This training is a self-study, theoretical approach to learning. API training materials are designed to help people in the oil and gas business meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

PetroSkills
In addition to the other training, we provide for our employees, online training through Petroskills, which includes hands-on instruction in our workshops from our experienced instructors. PetroSkills training programs aim at building competent petroleum professionals by delivering distinguished learning and development.

English Language Training
SEPOC realizes the importance of teaching the English language to its employees to help them gain more confidence and strong communication skills and to improve their professional success. Today, English becomes the dominant language of negotiation in business across the world. Therefore, SEPOC pays special attention to improving the staff’s English language proficiency and ability to interact with English-speaking countries or companies. By improving staff’s language skills, they will appear more professional and feel more confident when it comes to negotiating with others. In addition, employees with strong English language skills and high proficiency will feel more comfortable expressing themselves in multiple business meetings. SEPOC possesses a well-equipped training center in the field and runs regular English language courses using up-to-date multi-skills English series besides several ESP, English for specific purposes like technical writing and academic writing. Moreover, SEPOC training staff including the English language teachers take the advancement of technology into account for example, proper visual aids are integrated into almost all English classes which in turn attracts students´ attention to the topic presented in the class, enhances and facilitates comprehension of grammar and language, increases students' motivation, as well as helps employees learn more effectively, memorize the new vocabulary and structures.

Out-of-Country Training
SEPOC is committed to the continuous expansion, improvement, and development of professional-level employees’ knowledge as it relates to the needs of the Company. This may include, at the Company’s discretion, sending employees to attend a variety of short-term activities that may include: general purpose meetings, conferences, forums, seminars, summits, workshops, training for certification, and other organized learning and knowledge-sharing activities and events that are conducted outside the Country of Yemen.
SEPOC has its out-of-country training policy and procedure to assure that professional-level employees have opportunities to update job-related information, knowledge, and relationships that align with Company needs; and to stay current with industry and professional innovations.

Safety Training
Employees at SEPOC realize that Health and safety are paramount in the oil and gas industry and therefore strict adherence to proven best practices, carried out by well-trained crews, can help to minimize the occurrence of accidents and /or incidents. SEPOC as part of the oil and gas sector greatly relies on various professional safety courses to help reduce operational risks, maintain healthful working conditions, and create new safety systems. To help personnel maintain safe and healthy working life SEPOC regularly ensures providing them with several proper training mostly in the field Training Center or even sending them abroad for distinguished training and certifications.
